National Skills Competition Taitaja and TaitajaPLUS
Taitaja is a premier event for vocational education and training, showcasing a wide range of professions. Open to all vocational students, Taitaja features nearly 50 skill categories and attracts around 2,000 participants annually.
TaitajaPLUS is a special segment of Taitaja for students requiring additional support. It features 3–5 skill categories, with competitions tailored to accommodate special needs. Participants compete for national medals.
AMEO Colleges have more than 15 years of experience in organising special support competitions, TaitajaPLUS. Colleges are responsible for creating competition tasks that reflect vocational qualifications, preparing students for the competitions, ensuring that the competition environment is accessible to all participants, and working with various educational providers and managing partnerships. College’s expertise and experience in special support competitions make them an important contributor to the success of Taitaja events.
Next Taitaja event will take place on 5–8 May 2025 in Turku, Finland.

International Abilympics
The International Abilympics are global vocational skills competitions for persons with disabilities, showcasing their unique talents. The 12th Abilympics will be held in Helsinki, Finland, in May 2027, alongside the Taitaja event.
AMEO Colleges (Luovi, Live and Kiipula) play a crucial role in organizing the Abilympics. With over 15 years of experience in special support competitions, colleges contribute to:
- Task Preparation: Developing competition tasks and assignments.
- Training: Providing competition training for participants.
- Assessment: Evaluating performances during the competitions.
- Collaboration: Working with companies and managing sponsorships.
- Accessibility: Ensuring accessible competition arrangements.
Extensive international cooperation and expertise of colleges in SNE make them key players in the successful organization of the Abilympics 2027.
