AMEO Colleges

The Finnish-speaking vocational colleges in the AMEO network are private institutions. Optima, which provides vocational education with demanding special support in Swedish, is a municipal federation. 

Aitoo Vocational College – Aitoon koulutuskeskus 
Aitoo Vocational College is a vocational special education institution that offers preparatory education and vocational basic education for young people in need of demanding special support in Pälkäne and Tampere. Aitoo is managed by Aitoon Emäntäkoulu Oy.

Live Vocational College – Ammattiopisto Live 
Live Vocational College is the largest vocational special education institution in the Helsinki metropolitan area. Live has approximately 1,900 students annually in preparatory and qualification programs. Live employs about 450 staff members.

Luovi Vocational College – Ammattiopisto Luovi 
Luovi Vocatioal College is a nationally operating vocational special education institution with locations in over 30 municipalities across Finland. Luovi offers preparatory education (TUVA and TELMA) as well as training leading to 16 different vocational qualifications. 

We provide expert services in vocational special education to other educational institutions and partners. We are also an active developer of vocational special education and participate in many national and international networks and projects. 

Luovi has over 2,000 students annually, supported by over 950 dedicated professionals. Luovi is managed by Ammattiopisto Luovi Oy, which is owned by Hengitysliitto ry.

Spesia Vocational College – Ammattiopisto Spesia 
Spesia Vocational College is a vocational special education institution with over 1,500 students annually. The main campuses of Ammattiopisto Spesia are located in Jyväskylä, Järvenpää, Pieksämäki and Turku. Education is provided in a total of 11 locations. 

The institution is managed by Ammattiopisto Spesia Oy, which is owned by the Invalidiliitto and the S. and A. Bovallius Foundation sr.

Kiipula Vocational College – Kiipulan ammattiopisto 
Kiipula Vocational College is a vocational special education institution operating in ten municipalities with 16 different locations. Kiipula offers preparatory education (TUVA and TELMA) and vocational basic education as special education. Students can reside for free in student dormitories in Janakkala, Hämeenlinna, Lahti, and Nokia. Additionally, we offer supported living in Janakkala and Nokia for students who need strong guidance and assistance. 

Kiipula has approximately 1,000 students annually and trains precision workers for various professions through individualized and work-based learning. Studies include working in real workplaces and in the institution’s own learning environments. 

Kiipula’s education and rehabilitation activities are managed by the Kiipula Foundation. Kiipula employs over 500 professionals in the field. Kiipula’s dream is an equal and accessible society where working and a good life are opportunities for everyone.

Optima 
Optima’s mission is to provide vocational education with demanding special support in Swedish. Optima also serves as a competence center, offering consultation, support, and guidance related to vocational special education. 

Optima is responsible for providing vocational education with demanding special support for Swedish-speaking Finns. Optima operates in Ostrobothnia and Southern Finland.
